If you’ve studied animation at all it’s likely you came across Richard Williams name at some point. The Little Island is far from the classical animation Williams later produced. That’s not a criticism and it does not take away from this timeless production. I love the character design and the simplicity of the animation.

“The BAFTA winning animated film by animator Richard Williams (Who Framed Roger Rabbit’s animation director). This was his first film and is a wordless engima of philosophical musings. Reminiscent of the 1950s modern animation of UPA. Video source provided by Orange Cow Productions.”
