Saw ‘Season of the Witch’ tonight and I can highly recommend this movie! Go see it now. Anyway, couldn’t wait to get home and do a sketch. This image took about 50 min with MyPaint, not supposed to be the characters in the movie, just a couple of lads hunting a witch is all… Witch [...]

Hello again, boy I am posting a LOT these days. Lets hope I can keep up this pace! Today’s image is inspired by a cool landscape picture by Kevin Walsh (found in a landscape photography book in the library). Anyway, I already posted this to my deviantArt page so you can get all the logic [...]

This is a coloured version of the sketch of a robot type of thing I uploaded yesterday. Coloured in MyPaint, and influenced by the game Vanquish and art and artists from around the web and magazines. I used this image to familiarise myself with MyPaint and I’m pretty damn impressed with it’s simple easy to [...]

I just had to crack open MyPaint and do some doodling. This is a fantastic tool for sketching and very easy to use. Robot Gunner Tank Inspired by the latest edition of ImagineFX and one of the paint tutorials they featured. Vanquish Inspired Sketch I’m playing Vanquish at the moment and really enjoying the high-speed [...]
Gears Of War inspired fan art but taking a different slant and style. Made in PhotoShop using some graphics found on the web. Just for fun.
Oh No He’s Not!… (You get the picture) Enjoyed Aladdin at the Gaiety with the kids and extended family over the weekend (made the trip to Dublin on train, snow wouldn’t keep us out, the show must go on after all). These two pictures were inspired by the costumes and drawn from memory so probably [...]
Had a very productive drink and draw tonight in MacCarthy’s bar Dingle. One of our number was suffering from artist block so we agreed to do some 4 minute sketches to get the creative juices flowing. For each sketch we took turns of picking random or non-associated words to inspire the image. The results were [...]
Another ‘tipper’ from my sketchbook. Decided to only partially colour the head after finishing the arms. Oh well, that’s the nature of this type of sketch I guess. Hope you like, leave a comment why don’t ya’?
Dragon Attack

I wanted to do a worms eye perspective sketch in my sketchbook which resulted with this ‘tipper’ (felt-tip drawings). I really enjoy drawing with markers. It’s relaxing, interesting and you don’t get caught up with technology so you can flow and be creative.
These are concept sketches I did prior to creating a finished dragon image posted to Deviant Art. You can see the stages of development where I worked through a few ideas and details. So I decided I wanted to work on a dragon, can’t recall why, perhaps because I was reading about the Japanese game [...]
RAN Movie Inspired Sketches

I recently discovered my local library in Dingle has a small but pretty interesting DVD collection which happily includes the Japanese movie RAN directed by Akira Kurosawa. Find out about this visually stunning movie on the RAN wiki. Inspired by the sometimes dramatic beauty of this film I just had to do some doodles which [...]

Some software artwork (RGB, 72dpi) from when I worked in Havas Interactive. Artists were provided with a short description for each image and reference style guides. I would produce between 4 and 8 images a day depending on complexity. All images were created with a mouse (no wacoms!) in PhotoShop. Images Related To Spanish Mythology: Images [...]
