About This Blog
First off, my Twitter is http://twitter.com/#!/RobotBash, connect with me if you love games, drawing, animation and just being creative.
This is a blog dedicated to topics such as sketching, 3d modelling, animation, games and that sort of stuff. If you’re into Blender (and especially if you live in Ireland) give me a shout. Also, join us at our Drink & Draw nights every Tuesday @ 8 in MacCarthy’s bar, Dingle, Co. Kerry.
Also check out my portfolio for commercial work I’ve done over the years.
My Interests
3d max, 3d Blender, MyPaint paintings, drink & draw group, gaming (xbox and social games), Shorinji Kempo, reading (all of Malcolm Gladwells books, David Gemmell, ImagineFX, Edge magazine, Spam and anything else that takes my fancy…), movies, movie night with my kids, walks on the beach…
Game wise I’m working on an indie game called Gates Of Eternity for Earthwave Studios. There are 45 of us on the team and I’m working on base character concepts, character design and will soon be doing GUI. I like a good FPS, COD and Modern Warfare 2 etc. Other recent games I like Vanquish (totally underrated TPS!), Red Dead, Dead Rising, Gears Of War, Utopia Kingdoms Everlasting (facebook), and em…Monopoly (board game, total nerd). Also enjoy some indie PC games for play and research purposes.
Online community: Right now my favourite place is DeviantArt.com – you can connect with me at http://robotbash.deviantart.com. I’m also on facebook of course.
Further training recently includes Train The Trainer (developing lesson plans and presentations etc.) and advanced 3d max animation. I’m also studying Project Management online.
About Me (Peter McCormack)
My training is in animation and later digital multimedia (Senior College Ballyfermot, Dublin, Ireland). I did have a production company with a few pals for a while and we produced some funny Flash animated shorts series that were pretty well received (some videos below). I have worked in web design for about 8 years but to be honest I don’t find it fulfilling. I’ve wanted to get back into animation, love 3d modeling and would ideally combine those passions for the games or animation/movie industries.
